The cursive letter M is a great letter for kids to practice because it has multiple rounded humps!
Both the uppercase M and lowercase m need some spacing when writing and keeping the humps evenly rounded. I love practicing the lowercase m because the humps have to be close but not smooshed together!

The capital M should be large with nice rounded humps.
The lowercase m also has to be precise when forming the humps so that it doesn’t have too much space in between them.

The uppercase M is large while the lowercase m is small, with both having humps that need to be evenly rounded.
The humps could have too much space in between them or one hump could be taller than the other in the lowercase m, making the letter look lopsided.
It’s important to practice the lowercase m so that kids know how to correctly write the letter m in words.

With this worksheet, the kids will learn how to practice the cursive letter M in words.
The lowercase m is used in all of the 3 letter words, man, map, and mix.
They’ll be able to see how the m flows into the a in man, moves into the rounded a and then the p in map, and goes into the short i and x in mix.
It’s a great way to practice the 3 letter words since they’re not too hard but the kids get to practice the letter m in different ways depending on the next letter.
